The Fredonia Fire Department (Fredonia Fire-Rescue) provides fire and emergency response services for a 640 square mile coverage area between the Grand Canyon and the Utah-Arizona border. As part of a mutual aid agreement, Fredonia FD also responds to incidents in Kanab, UT and their surrounding area.

FFD is the main fire fighting response for approximately 250 residences and commercial/industrial structures in Fredonia. In addition, FFD provides motor vehicle accident and extrication service on approximately 55 miles of state highway. These routes are travelled by thousands of visitors annually as they travel to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park.

As a totally volunteer organization, membership varies, but usually holds at a dozen trained firefighters and officers. The department receives its training in-house, and from the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy (UFRA) and the Arizona State Fire School. The regular weekly meeting is held Thursday nights at the Fire Station. In addition, structural fire fighting training is held one Saturday morning each month.  Fredonia Fire-Rescue is a volunteer department striving for professional standards and results.

The Fredonia Fire Department is dependent on the volunteer efforts of the community.  If you are interested in joining the Fredonia Fire Department please download and return the Volunteer Fire Fighter Application.
